space pictureDan, now that the dotcom crazyness is over we can get back to business, making technology, and offering it for a reasonable price. Very little technology was created by all the VC and public money that was spent in the 90s. It's easier for technology to stand out now that the incredible racket created by all that money is over.
space pictureThat's an interesting thought. My first reaction was, o, c'mon, that's not true, the world changed incredibly -- but on second thought, all the things that come to mind immediately were results of public spending, or open source, or donated to the world at large; what did come out of all that money in the nineties? I wonder if anyone, like, any of those many many analysts spouting no deposit no return wisdoms daily, has done a study of the big picture in ROI terms.
space pictureLet's list the hundred most significant computer technological advances of the past decade, and the hundred most expensive (non-) advances, and compare.
space pictureOr maybe list the companies that got a significant share of The Dissappearing 3 Trillion bucks, along with the tech they produced.
space pictureOk, that's not right. I'm no MBA -- what would be the right way to investigate this thought and put some numbers behind it?
